WHY BRIGHT YELLOW? (THIS WAS NOT A STYLE CHOICE)

Dogs do not see the world the way humans do. Humans are trichromatic (we see red, green, and blue). Dogs are dichromatic—their vision is closest to a blue–yellow spectrum.

What this means in real performance terms:

• Red/orange = muted, muddy tones to a dog

• Green grass + water backgrounds = low contrast for red/orange objects

• Yellow = one of the highest-contrast colors a dog can see

The Science Applied to Performance

We selected bright yellow fire hose because:

• It sits directly in a high-visibility range of canine vision

• It creates strong contrast against water, docks, sky, and shoreline

• It is easier to track mid-flight

• It reduces visual hesitation at the point of commitment
